Panelists

Paula Tkac is a senior vice president and associate director of research at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta and a member of the executive leadership committee. She leads the economic research and policy function and the Regional Economic Information Network (REIN) in the Research Division. Tkac also serves as a senior monetary policy advisor to Atlanta Fed president and is involved in strategic leadership at both the Division and organizational levels. Her research has won two William F. Sharpe Awards from the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis. Tkac earned her bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in economics from the University of Chicago.

Salomé Baslandze is a research economist and assistant advisor on the macroeconomics and monetary policy team in the research department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta and a research affiliate at Centre for Economic Policy Research. Her major fields of study are innovation, firm dynamics, growth, and entrepreneurship. Baslandze obtained her doctorate degree in economics in 2015 from the University of Pennsylvania. She received her master’s degree in economics in 2009 from ISET, Georgia, and her bachelor’s degree in mathematics in 2007 from Tbilisi State University, Georgia.

Noimot Bakare is a research economist and assistant advisor on the Macroeconomics and Monetary Policy Team in the Research Department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. She studies household finance, consumer finance, and financial inclusion. Prior to joining the Atlanta Fed in 2021, Bakare Ayoub was an economist trainee at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. Bakare Ayoub received her Ph.D. and master’s degree in economics from Howard University and her bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Illinois Chicago.

Moderator

Ayo Aladesanmi is currently a master’s candidate studying urban policy, public management, and public law & governance at the University of Pennsylvania. He is pursuing an MPA through the Fels Institute of Government and an ML through the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School. In 2019, Ayo graduated with a B.S. in Economics from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
