"Dendritic Cells and the 'Atkins' Immune Response"

Abstract Identification of molecular characteristics that are integral for dendritic cell recognition of pathogen associated carbohydrate motifs and development of a high throughput assay to test the dendritic cell response to large arrays of carbohydrates in a variety of contexts.

Lucia Mirabella - Advisor, Ajit Yoganathan

"4D Image-based Approach for CFD in Compliant Blood Vessels"

An alternative way to simulate blood flow in a compliant vascular wall, exploiting the availability of accurate time resolved medical images to obtain information on the motion of the vascular structure, will be presented. The goal is to apply this methodology to medically relevant cases as the study of blood flow features inside patient-specific total cavopulmonary connections.

The Graduate and Post-Doc (GaP) Seminar Series is a weekly event of biotechnology related research presentations by two graduate students or post-docs of IBB and is co-sponsored by BME. It is held every Wednesday at 12:00pm in IBB 1128 and refreshments are provided.
