Seminar Title: Career Journeys - Scott Gibbons, Senior Director, Operations Space and Airborne Systems at L3Harris Technologies, Inc.

Abstract: Mr. Gibbons will share his personal career journey and tips on how to navigate your own path.

Biographical Sketch: Scott Gibbons is Sr. Director of Operations for the Space and Airborne Systems Segment of L3Harris Technologies.  In this role, Gibbons is responsible for leading manufacturing operations and delivering products and services on-time, defect free, within budget and achieving high customer satisfaction.  Gibbons has 20 years of experience in Aerospace and Defense industry leading Engineering and Operations teams.  He reports to the Vice President of Operations at Space and Airborne Systems

In his previous role, he served as the Sr. Director for Quality and Mission Assurance for Space Systems where he had responsibility for developing rigorous business processes, managing mission risk and ensuring quality of products. 

Prior roles within L3Harris include Director of Operational Excellence at L3Harris Corporate Headquarters responsible for managing the company wide continuous improvement program, Senior Manager of development manufacturing responsible for production and integration of Space Antennas, Proprietary systems and mechanical design and fabrication shops.

Before that, he assumed positions of increasing responsibility within Engineering.  He served as a capture manager and several project engineering positions and design engineering roles responsible for space antennas, robotic mechanisms and electronics packaging.

Gibbons received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Business Leadership certification from the Wharton School of Business.
