Metro scientist fears PPE is ‘nail in the coffin’ for plastic pollution

That "metro scientist" is Kim Cobb, ADVANCE Professor in the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, who worries that facemasks, gloves, and other plastic personal protective equipment (PPE) carelessly tossed away will end up clogging an ecosystem already reeling from global plastic pollution.
