Is a Degree in Economics a Good Investment?

Anthony Schmitz earned his M.S. in economics in 2009. He is a Portfolio Manager in Investment Strategy & Risk at CalSTRS, the largest educator-only pension fund in the US. After Georgia Tech, he joined NERA Economic Consulting specializing in power/gas commodities, infrastructure, and regulatory issues.

He has been managing investment portfolios for the past 7 years primarily in renewable energy infrastructure, ESG/sustainable investment strategies, and quantitative risk management.
