Georgia Tech Career Center

Primary tabs

While everyone on the Georgia Tech campus is exercising caution in this time of COVID, we realize that you as parents are particularly concerned for the welfare of your student. We share this timely article from the perspective of another career center director regarding college to career in these extraordinary times

The author raises important points:

·   We are all pushed to limits beyond our normal functioning

·   Focus on what you can control

·   Use your career center resources (www.career.gatech.edu )

·   Grow your professional presence on LinkedIn

·   Is this the time to consider a gap semester or year? Employers will understand what has happened – we are all going through strange times

·   Concentrate on skills development and how to articulate them

·   Project forward; COVID will not limit us forever

Students can request advisor appointments through their home page of CareerBuzz, My Quicklinks menu, “request an advisor appointment.” No matter the need, we have a workshop for it! From resume-crafting to interview tips, LinkedIn, and how to negotiate salary. The Career Center can help your student!
