A Discussion of "Wealth, Race, and Wildlife"
Primary tabs
Join SLS for a discussion about "Wealth, Race, and Wildlife" focused on Schell et al's scholarship linking the health and diversity of local wildlife to structural inequality and racism in American cities. Everyone joining the discussion will read a piece in Science magazine by Christopher Schell (University of Washington) and his collaborators and come prepared to talk about how it might apply to their own studies, teaching, or research and to our collective work at GT to realize a more equitable and diverse environment in the broadest sense. Your discussion leaders will be Dr. Emily Weigel (Biological Sciences) and Janelle Wright (Masters Student, School of City and Regional Planning). The event will be an informal and fun way to explore this emerging field of research and to deepen our understanding of the relationship between racial equity and sustainability.
