RISE Up

Primary tabs

The Division of Student Life’s Women’s Resource Center has launched RISE (Reimagine, Inspire, Serve, and Empower), a first-year leadership organization for incoming undergraduate students interested in advancing gender equity and social justice at Georgia Tech.

RISE participants will gain valuable leadership skills and knowledge through coalition building, consciousness raising, and community service opportunities within the framework of feminist leadership principles. They will reimagine a more equitable future, inspire social change, serve to promote community justice, and empower women and their allies to take action for gender equity.

RISE will be a space for first-year students to build connections and a close-knit community from the beginning of their very first semester. They will also have access to a team of five student advisors who will help guide RISE programs and mentor incoming members as they move through their first year.

Applications for inaugural RISE student advisor positions are now live and due by 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1. Applicants must be full-time undergraduate students in their second year or above and in good academic standing. Questions about applications can be emailed to the RISE staff advisor, Dani Lechner, at danielle.lechner@studentlife.gatech.edu.
