In this series, Georgia Tech Arts hosts virtual conversations with Georgia Tech alumni working in the arts. While many Yellow Jackets go into careers in line with what they studied at school, there are some who find themselves putting their degrees to use within creative industries. Learn how these Georgia Tech alumni intertwined their passions with their degrees to chart exciting career paths.

Megan Fechter, who graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, will join us for the second conversation in this series on Monday, July 13, 2020 at 11 a.m. Megan is an artist and studio owner in Atlanta, GA whose path to painting began when she was a student at Georgia Tech. She will chat with us about her journey and the joy she finds in creating art.

This conversation will be live streamed on Georgia Tech Arts’ Facebook Live page. Register to submit a question in advance

Megan Fechter, BSBA 2017, is an artist and studio owner out of Atlanta, Georgia with a creative curiosity and passion for design that sparks joy. Her painting journey began as a student at Georgia Tech, playing around with a hand-me-down watercolor set in her dorm room between classes, extracurriculars and late-night study sessions. She started painting for friends, then friends of friends, and next thing she knew, she was experimenting with new mediums for people across the country. And voilà - Painted Parcels was born!

Since graduating from Georgia Tech and working a corporate job, she took a leap of faith to pursue her dream job - creating custom works of art at her studio, The Reverie, which is also provides a space for other women to explore their own creative endeavors.
