Join Dr. Simon Tweddell for a webinar presentation on his experiences of leading the design of a new undergraduate pharmacy curriculum informed by educational theory, employer needs and educational best practice.

Simon will talk through the rationale for the design of the curriculum, which is delivered predominately by Team-Based Learning (TBL). Simon will explain how he uses TurningPoint to engage students in the classroom and to help manage part of the “assessment-for-learning” process used in TBL. Simon will also discuss the faculty and student experience of TBL and present some results from a recent study that demonstrates how active and collaborative learning has increased student engagement and narrowed the attainment gap for students of target equality groups.

TBL is a structured, student-centered learning and teaching strategy that takes a “flipped” approach to learning. It is designed to promote active, engaging and deeper approaches to learning through a process of preparation, testing and application of knowledge. Technology is used to enhance interactivity and collect data to inform specific and directed feedback to students.
