All of the Above: A Documentary Screening and Conversation About Higher Ed Admissions and Testing

Join the Center for 21st Century Universities (C21U) and the Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics, and Computing (CEISMC) on Thursday, Feb. 6 at 1:30 p.m. for All of the Above, an afternoon event featuring a screening of The Test & the Art of Thinking followed by a conversation about admissions and testing at Georgia Tech and across higher ed.

Hear from education policy consultant and long-time testing proctor (and former director of equity and access) for the Princeton Review, Akil Bello, Georgia Tech's director of undergraduate admissions and co-author of The Truth About College AdmissionsRick Clark, senior research scientist in CEISMC and expert in stereotype and social identity threat on the academic achievement of students, Diley Hernández, and New York Times-bestselling author and professor of the practice in C21U, Jeff Selingo, in a lively discussion about testing and admissions moderated by Heidi Turcotte, a program director in CEISMC.The panelists will share explore the national landscape of standardized testing, as portrayed in The Test & the Art of Thinking, and will share their own personal experiences with the intersection of standardized testing and higher education at Georgia Tech and beyond. 

If you are an educator interested in the future of admissions, a student, or a parent of a student of any age, you won't want to miss this important conversation. 

All of the Above will take place on Thursday, Feb. 6 in the Georgia Tech Student Center Theater, beginning at 1:30 p.m. The documentary, The Test & the Art of Thinking, will be shown beginning at 1:30 p.m. with Bello, Clark, Hernández, and Selingo's discussion to follow immediately after. The film is 1 hour and 25 min. long and the panel discussion will begin around 3:00 p.m.
