Transgender Day of Remembrance

Primary tabs

Transgender Day of Remembrance is an annual global commemoration of transgender people who have lost their lives to violence in the past year. It takes place on November 20th each year. The LGBTQIA Resource Center hosts an annual vigil and event to mark Transgender Day of Remembrance on or around November 20th. Our goal with each event is to honor those we have lost, uplift and support our trans community on campus, and educate cisgender students and employees on how they can create a safer world for trans people.

This year, the LGBTQIA Resource Center will participate by hosting an interactive, self-guided vigil and workshop that includes a memorial, information about the trans community in general and at Georgia Tech, and opportunities to participate in trans activism and allyship. Drop in anytime November 20th between 12pm and 1pm.
