Full Summary: No summary paragraph submitted.

On Nov. 30, the Office of Sponsored Programs is kicking off its New Early Career Series, which highlights research funding opportunities specifically for faculty at the start of their careers. Each session will offer an in-depth look at the funding agency, their specific proposal guidelines and budget development, including the perspectives of previous award recipients from Georgia Tech.

With a fast approaching deadline, the first of the series is the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA): Young Faculty Award (YFA). This program aims to identify and engage rising stars in academia and expose them to Department of Defense (DOD) needs. In particular, the YFA will provide high-impact funding to elite junior faculty early in their careers to help develop their research ideas in the context of DOD issues. The long term goal of the program is to develop the next generation of academic scientists, engineers, biologists and mathematicians in key disciplines of interest to DARPA who will focus a significant portion of their career on DOD and national security issues.

The YFA Program is one of the many things DARPA does to develop the next generation of academic scientists, engineers and mathematicians. If you want to learn how you can take your place among these innovators join us on  at 3 p.m. in the Research Administration Bldg.
