Menstrual Product Program Launches, October 2019
Primary tabs
The Menstrual Product Program (MPP) is a student-led initiative to provide free menstrual hygiene products to students on campus. It started as a joint project between the Student Government Association’s (SGA’s) Cultural and Diversity Affairs Committee (CDAC) and the Center for the Study of Women, Science, and Technology (WST). Last semester, the program secured approximately $30,000 after receiving support from the student body. The pilot phase of the program is set to begin in October 2019. The program will acquire menstrual hygiene products from Aunt Flow, an organization dedicated to providing and promoting biodegradable, organic, and accessible menstrual hygiene products to campuses across America. One women’s restroom and one gender-inclusive restroom in each of the following buildings will have products available: the Scheller College of Business, Clough Undergraduate Learning Commons, Mason Civil and Environmental Engineering Building, Smithgall Student Services (Flag) Building, West Village Dining Commons, and Klaus Advanced Computing Building.
