Microbial Dynamics Seminar at 3pm CHOA Seminar Room

"Closing the gap between medical microbiology and infectious disease epidemiology"

Med micro and ID epidemiology are both focused on progression and control of infectious diseases, but could just as well live on separate planets (planet medicine, and planet public health). Can the Center for Microbial Dynamics and Infection build some bridges? Let’s chat about this. Three avenues come to mind: (1) identifying missing epi processes, (2) testing epi theory, (3) metagenomics / phylo-dynamics.
