Primary tabs

The Immigration Services Office of the Latin American Association provides affordable legal services to help eligible individuals obtain immigration benefits. This work includes direct services to provide general immigration legal services, domestic violence legal services and removal defense legal services.

They are currently seeking interns for the Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 semesters to help with citizenship workshops, client cases, and translations. This is an ideal position for individuals with an interest in immigration, legal issues, and the Latinx community. Interns can be current students or recent graduates from a U.S. Institution. High proficiency in Spanish preferred.

  • Work is completed between 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM M-F in their office located in Atlanta (or Lawrenceville). Your schedule is flexible within those hours.
  • If participating in Citizenship Workshops, they will be on Thursday mornings.
  • This is a volunteer position (unpaid) but the office is happy to sign for internship/college credit and/or write a recommendation letter.
  • They do note require a minimum or maximum number of hours, a general schedule will be set at the beginning of service as agreed upon by the office and volunteer.

Interested students and recent graduates can send an e-mail to Gabi Kocerha at gkocerha@thelaa.org with any questions and/or to express interest.

If you do not have the ability to intern but would like to volunteer, please reach out to gkocerha@thelaa.org.
