Primary tabs

The Association of Internal Management Consultants (AIMC) has selected Georgia Tech's Office of Strategic Consulting (GTSC) as the 2019 Overall Internal Consulting Excellence Award winner. The award is presented annually to the internal consulting group that demonstrates superior performance in both delivering high-quality consulting processes and demonstrating a significant impact on the enterprise. GTSC was recognized as the small group winner, for teams with fewer than 15 members.

“It is an honor to be recognized by the AIMC for the impact we are making across campus,” said Sonia Alvarez-Robinson, executive director of Strategic Consulting. “We have worked hard to streamline our processes and build our competencies to positively affect the student, faculty, and staff experience and create a more efficient and effective organization. I am very proud of our team and appreciative of the continued trust and support provided by Georgia Tech’s senior leadership.”

“This is a tremendous honor and a testament to the impact GTSC is having on advancing our strategic goal of relentlessly pursuing institutional effectiveness,” said Jim Fortner, interim executive vice president for Administration and Finance and a supporter of GTSC’s application for the award. “This recognition further reinforces the strong reputation that GTSC has built both inside and outside Georgia Tech.”

The AIMC is the leading professional network of internal consulting groups. The Overall Internal Consulting Excellence Award is the highest honor bestowed by AIMC and highlights the internal consulting profession and the effect internal consulting groups are having within organizations across the world. Candidates are assessed in the areas of client relationship management, operating processes, performance measurement, professional development, contribution to client skill development, and the group’s impact on the enterprise.

Jacqueline Royster, dean of the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts and the Ivan Allen Jr. Dean’s Chair in Liberal Arts and Technology also supported GTSC’s application for the award. “I was delighted to sing their praises,” she said. “Strategic Consulting has been a key ally in our ability to make sure Ivan Allen College is a well-run asset for Georgia Tech. I deeply appreciate having a group that can be counted on to do such good work — thoughtfully, respectfully, and meaningfully. They are very deserving of recognition for work well done.”
