Dr. Tsai explores how social environment, physical appearance, and ability to speak heritage languages influences mixed-heritage learners’ construction of identity.  Her study highlights the specific challenges faced by an underrepresented group, with implications for ways to support language learners’ identity development within and outside of language classrooms.
