Summer will be here before you know it and it’s not too early to start thinking about your summer job! The Campus Recreation Complex (CRC) hires over 350 student employees in a variety of paid positions ranging from fitness attendants to marketing assistants and graphic designers. Applications are now open but closing soon on March 22nd with interviews beginning the week of March 25th.

The CRC is a great opportunity for those staying close to campus interested in working flexible hours alongside fellow students. "Working at the CRC has been one of the best parts of my college career,” said Kristie Teoh, former building supervisor. “The people I work with are fun, encouraging, and supportive. I’ve made so many lasting friendships that I value both in and outside of the CRC."

In addition to lasting friendships, the CRC focuses on creating opportunities and experiences for students to build real-world meta-skills like problem solving, teamwork, communication and customer service that help bolster your resume upon graduation. “The CRC is unique to other campus positions because you have to think outside of the box often. For me it’s with writing articles to solve a problem and finding unique angles to make people interested… I get to work with other students who are learning the same skills and bounce ideas off of them to think more creatively,” said marketing assistant Kimberly Fulton.

The convenient location and extended building hours allow for flexible scheduling during nontraditional times. David Hogan, former facility assistant said, “The hours are flexible and the people I work with are great.” The nontraditional schedule means school remains your priority and supervisors are able to make schedules based on what works best for you! If you are not taking classes this summer you can also find opportunities to work longer or shorter hours depending on what you prefer.
