The Cybersecurity Lecture Series at Georgia Tech is a free, one-hour lecture from a thought leader who is advancing the field of information security and privacy. Invited speakers include executives and researchers from Fortune 500 companies, federal intelligence agencies, start-ups, and incubators, as well as Georgia Tech faculty and students presenting their research. Lectures are open to all -- students, faculty, industry, government, or simply the curious.

Abstract:

Cybersecurity is essential for national security. Ms. Wright is a national security executive at ManTech International Corporation. ManTech is a trusted partner and leading systems integrator for the Department of Defense, the Intelligence Community, and other Federal Agencies. Ms. Wright’s business portfolio focuses on providing security solutions for the Intelligence Community. As the Technical Director for a $450M portfolio, Ms. Wright tracks emerging technologies and business best practices that support and defend cyber and other environments that could impact national security. She will speak about the challenges that exist in cybersecurity today and what technology users can do to manage today’s cyber threats and vulnerabilities.

Bio: 

Matice Wright is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy with a BS in the Physical Sciences and General Engineering. After completing flight school, Ms. Wright became the Navy’s first African American female Naval Flight Officer where she accrued flight hours in both the EC-130 and the E-6 aircraft. After serving in the military, she was presidentially appointed to serve as a White House Fellow in addition to the Senior Executive Service where she led the Pentagon’s Office of Manufacturing and Industrial Base Policy from 2010-2012. She holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Harvard University and a Master of Business Administration with a Finance concentration from Johns Hopkins University. Now, as a Sr. Executive at ManTech, Ms. Wright provides technical direction and business operations support to four divisions that focus on cyber-related environments and generates more than $450M in annual revenue.
