Full Summary: In this workshop, graduate students will discuss the importance of being able to communicate your research to those outside of your field.

In this workshop, we will discuss the importance of being able to communicate your research to those outside of your field. Included in this workshop, you will learn how to develop an elevator pitch about your research, emphasizing how to clearly and briefly explain your research (and why it matters) to non-specialists. Your facilitator will offer examples of effective and ineffective statements; share techniques and tips for developing your pitch and communicating with non-specialists; and work with you on a draft of your own pitch.

This workshop is directed towards graduate students. Postdocs are welcome as walk-ins as space allows.
