The School of History and Sociology at Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) invites applications for a faculty position at the rank of assistant or associate professor. We are especially interested in applications in sociology of technology or sociology of science, with a preference for sociology of technology. Candidates whose work includes areas outside the United States are encouraged to apply.

The position will begin in August 2019.

The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. completed by the time of appointment and an established research trajectory that fits with the mission of the school. Faculty rank will be commensurate with experience and accomplishments. The successful candidate must demonstrate excellence in both research and teaching and will be expected to contribute to the school’s undergraduate and graduate programs.

Review of applications will begin September 14 and will continue until the position is filled.

The School of History and Sociology (HSOC) is a department within the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts (IAC), and serves as the primary home for the disciplines of history and sociology at Georgia Tech.
