Astronaut Scholarship Foundation Award Presentation and Talk

The Georgia Tech Community is invited to attend as College of Computing Undergraduate Student, Joy Buolamwini is presented with the Astronaut Scholarship Award for the 2010-2011 school year! Joy’s Award will be presented by U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame Inductee, Robert L. Crippen (http://www.astronautscholarship.org/crippen.html).

The ASF Scholarship Committee, comprised of Academia, Astronauts and Astronaut Scholar alumni, reviewed the applicants and chose the top students from each institution to become Astronaut Scholars. "Our Scholars are the best and brightest students in these fields, and they possess an innate drive to succeed that you can't teach," said Astronaut Scholarship Foundation Chairman and Apollo 15 astronaut Al Worden. "These students are the future of our nation and we are proud to support them in their educational endeavors." Since 1982, the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation (ASF) through over 80 astronauts has awarded $3 million dollars. www.AstronautScholarship.org.
