We knew there would be significant media interest in this study, especially in the wake of one of the worst flu seasons in recent memory. School of Mathematics Professor Howard Weiss joined Emory University researchers in looking at how potentially infectious diseases are transmitted during flights. If you always try to get a window seat during air travel, you're giving yourself a better chance of avoiding colds and influenza, according to the study.
