Each year, Project One invites undergraduate students to participate in a series of events and activities centered around a theme. This year’s theme, “What is Happiness?” was chosen with input from faculty, staff, and students. In Spring 2018, Project One is hosting two events designed to get students thinking actively about their own happiness and well-being.

What do Happiness & Sustainability Mean to You? What is the connection between happiness and sustainability—and how can we apply this connection to the Georgia Tech community? Students are invited to join us for a workshop hosted by Scott Cloutier as we consider what happiness and sustainability mean for Georgia Tech, and how students can create a happier, more sustainable Tech community. We will discuss how happiness and sustainability are intertwined, how students might explore happiness through sustainability in their own lives, and what the happiness-sustainability connection means for Georgia Tech. The workshop will be on Thursday, March 1, 11-11:45 a.m. in the Clough Lounge.

The Second Annual Project One Film Scramble will also kick-off this spring. The Film Scramble is a timed filmmaking competition in which Georgia Tech undergraduates are challenged to create short films—from concept to completion—in one high-paced, caffeine-fueled weekend. Films can be any genre—science fiction, horror, romance, comedy, documentary—as long as the theme of your film is “happiness.” Filmmakers will be given a prop and a line of dialogue to be included in their short film masterpiece. Films must not run more than three minutes in length. Selected films will be on the big screen at the premiere event on April 11 at the Student Center Theater.
