Adulting Series

Primary tabs

Adult (verb) – to behave in an adult manner; engage in activities associated with adulthood. While you are preparing to enter into the job market with your classes and internships, are preparing you to conquer basic life skills like how to manage a budget, sew on a button or cook yourself a well-balanced meal?

Health Initiatives wants to help you thrive by being successful beyond the classroom. A large part of thriving involves practicing daily life skills. Knowing how to cook a meal or plan a trip on a budget are key components to social and financial well-being.  Health Initiatives created a four-part series focused on preparing students to gain these skills and flourish outside of the classroom.

Health Educator, Jocelyn Resnick co-founded this program with the intention that students walk away knowing Georgia Tech cares about their ability to thrive beyond the classroom. “Thriving means much more than excelling in the classroom. We want students to graduate feeling prepared for the real world having mastered these essential adult skills.”

This series will run from January to March and feature topics like saving for spring break and food for life. Registration is required for these classes and spots are expected to fill up quickly. Additional information can be found at http://healthinitiatives.gatech.edu/adulting.
