Fred Anochie and Ragnar-Miguel Myhrer have joined the External Advisory Board for the Georgia Tech School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) this fall. The Board, composed of mostly alumni industry representatives, provides an external assessment of ECE’s programs during its formal, biannual meetings and throughout the year.

Fred Anochie

Fred Anochie has worked at Cox Communications for 12 years, where he has held several executive leadership positions in the areas of Network Engineering, Operations, and Application Development. 

Anochie currently serves as an executive director of Technology, holding responsibility for program delivery, deployment, and early life management of Advanced Access technologies (FTTH, DOCSIS 3.1, Remote PHY, Full Duplex) across the entire enterprise. The combined programs represent a significant strategic investment over the next 10 years that will accomplish a generational network transformation and help future-proof the company’s broadband service offerings. 

Anochie has over 20 years of professional experience that spans Telecommunications, Consulting, and IT. He has a demonstrated track record of successfully implementing complex large-scale, multi-year technology programs. 

Anochie is a proud product of Georgia Tech, where he earned his M.S.E.E. in December 1993. He readily credits his education and experience at Georgia Tech with providing him the foundation to be successful in his early technical career and giving him a competitive advantage in his chosen field. He also holds an M.B.A. from Emory University and a B.S.E.E. from Northeastern University.

Anochie volunteers in his community at select local charities, mentors and speaks with groups that have organized outreach to inner-city youths, and supports the Special Olympics.

On a personal note, Anochie and his wife Annette celebrated their 18th anniversary in July. Their two daughters – Kennedy (14) and Makayli (12) think their dad is a very big deal, and a “nice” person. Their words!

Ragnar-Miguel Myhrer

Ragnar-Miguel Myhrer is a managing director with Accenture, where he leads the North America Network Practice. In his role, Myhrer helps Communications, Media, and Technology (CMT) clients build new capabilities, operate more efficiently, and drive new growth opportunities.  

During his 19-year tenure at Accenture, Myhrer has been involved in creating and growing practices, including the formation of the Machine2Machine areas (now IoT), Wireless Practices, and helping to start the Accenture Nokia / ALU Business Group. He also leads Accenture’s diversity and inclusion program in the Atlanta office.

Myhrer has worked with numerous technology start-ups, including mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs), telecommunication and cable operators, retailers, and consumer electronics companies. Collaborating with clients, he develops and implements new products from initial concepts through design and implementation of systems, setup of corresponding infrastructure, and operations.

Myhrer has recently returned from assignments in Latin America and Europe. Since coming back to the United States, he has focused on Network Cost takeout, IT/Network Transformation, MVNOs, Customer Analytics, 4G, product development in the digital home, and connected devices.

Before joining Accenture, Myhrer worked at several satellite providers where he designed defense and commercial satellite systems. He has been quoted in industry publications that include Wireless Business Review, FierceWireless, Wireless Week, Telecom Asia, and Mobile Europe.

Myhrer received his B.S. degree (with highest honors) and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech in 1996 and 1998, respectively.
