Suspension of U.S. Visas in Turkey

Primary tabs

Effective October 8, 2017, the U.S. embassy in Turkey has temporarily suspended nonimmigrant visa services at posts in Turkey, including the embassy at Ankara and the consular posts in Istanbul and Adana. The suspension impacts all non-immigrant visa issuance. Individuals with a valid U.S. visa can still travel to the United States. Individuals can also apply for a visa at another U.S. embassy or consulate outside of Turkey.

Georgia Tech is monitoring the situation closely. The OIE will provide updates on our website as they are announced. We encourage all to visit the U.S. Embassy and Consulates in Turkey for the most current information.
