Digital Resources for the Georgia Tech Researcher

Bring your laptop computer and learn how to access and use the plethora of free digital resources that can help Georgia Tech researchers identify funding, secure it, and then conduct the research.  This half-day workshop will introduce you **in a hands-on manner** to resources at:

  1. The Library: Where, among many things, COS & PIVOT can help you automatically identify and track funding opportunities in your area of research.  Tools available can also provide you with regular updates on the latest releases of journal articles in your favorite topic area.Speaker: Elizabeth Holdsworth, Librarian (Library)
  2. GTCrossroads: Which among many things has a wealth of tools available to manage your research portfolio, keep track of deliverables and other due dates, and find equipment and other experts at GT. Speaker: Raj Vuchatu, Principle Research Assoc. (GTRI)
  3. OIT: Which offers free dropbox accounts, surveys, skype/webex, OneDrive/Office365,  GitHub, student clickers, and automated-backups of your files. Speaker: Bill Miller, IT Support Program Manager (MSE)
  4. MATIN:  Which offers a comprehensive suite of “lab to cloud” technologies to help digitize your research operations and potentially uncover linkages in your data that you might have otherwise missed. Speaker: Aleksandr Blekh, Research Scientist (ME)
