Pre-Health Personal Statement Review Session:

Students applying (or re-applying) for medical professional schools in the upcoming application cycle are invited to a Personal Statement Review Session on Thursday, April 13, from 4-6 p.m. in the President’s Suites of the Bill Moore Student Success Center. This review session will include professionals from around campus and the medical community. Students will rotate to a new professional every 20 minutes, so each student should leave with feedback from three qualified readers. Limited spots are available. Pre-Teaching Web Site:

Each year, Georgia Tech students discover an interest in teaching and explore that enthusiasm with opportunities and information provided by Pre-Teaching Advisor Susan Belmonte. Pre-Teaching recently launched a new and improved website. Check it out at http://www.preteaching.gatech.edu/.

Resilience in the Medical School Application Process:

Pre-graduate and pre-professional advisors congratulate our students who have been admitted to professional or graduate schools this year! While we hope for the best for all Georgia Tech applicants, we know that some students will not be able to move forward immediately, especially into highly competitive medical professional programs. For these students we recommend patience and perseverance. Professional schools often reward students who reapply, especially when they can see growth in the application from one year to the next. The first step in preparing a strong reapplication is identifying possible weaknesses (often clinical experience, but sometimes GPA or test scores) and devising a plan to address them. Georgia Tech’s pre-health advisors are here to help first- and second-year students to develop a strategy for a strong application and to assist more mature students in determining readiness for the application cycle. We continue to serve students and alumni until they meet their career goals. Students can schedule an appointment at http://gatech.gradesfirst.com (choose pre-health) or stop by our drop-in hours on Mondays from 2-4 p.m. or Thursdays from 10 a.m. – noon.
