Please join us for an informational talk by Hideo Owan from Aoyama Gakuin University.

Title: Incentive System for Inventors

Hideo Owan is Professor, Graduate School of International Management. Aoyama Gakuin University and Visiting Professor, Institute of Economic Research, Hitotsubashi University. Prior to his appointment at Aoyama Gakuin, Dr. Owan taught at the John M. Olin School of Business, Washington University in St. Louis. He worked for Nomura Research Institute as an Economist in Tokyo and New York before starting his graduate studies. Dr. Owan's research spans the theory of the firm, personnel economics, and industrial organization. He received his Ph.D. in Business from Stanford University in 1999; he has an M.A. in Economics from Columbia University and a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Tokyo. He has published in major international journals such as the Journal of Political Economy, Management Science, and the Journal of Labor Economics.

The Sam Nunn School of International Affairs is proud to present the Globalization, Innovation and Development, The Ivan Allen College Speaker Series on Science, Technology, and Society. The purpose of this program is to provide new and expert insights into the dynamic world of innovation and economic development under an ever more globalizing world. Our aim is to engage Georgia Tech faculty and students with cutting edge research from a multidisciplinary point of view, with the hope of expanding their understanding and encouraging research activities and collaborations. Participants in this speaker series are both leading and promising researchers, and are invited to spend a day at Georgia Tech to meet faculty and students, in addition to presenting on their current research.
