Please join the Institute for Leadership and Entrepreneurship for a talk from Todd Stansbury, Georgia Tech Athletic Director.

As Athletic Director, Stansbury oversees all of Tech’s sport teams, sets athletic policies, schedules games and events, and allocates funds from the budget to each sport.

At only age ten, after meeting Georgia Tech quarterback Scott Zolke on vacation, Stansbury dedicated his young life to playing football at Georgia Tech. During his time here, he was so influenced by the then-Athletic Director Homer Rice and Rice’s “Total Person Program” that he returned to Tech a few years after his graduation, with a degree in Industrial Management, to serve as an academic advisor to the football team. Since then, he has served as an associate Athletic Director for University of Houston and Oregon State and as the Athletic Director for East Tennessee State, University of Central Florida, and Oregon State. In November of 2016, Stansbury took over the role of Athletic Director here at Georgia Tech.

Finally back home at Tech, Stansbury plans on implementing his own program, comparable to Rice’s, but called “Every Day Champions Program,” which focuses on teaching life skills, including efforts to integrate student-athletes into the corporate structure and workplace within large Atlanta companies.

About the Impact Speaker Series:

Since 2002, the IMPACT Speaker Series has brought highly successful business leaders from a variety of industries to campus to share their experiences and give advice to students and other entrepreneurs on topics ranging from "building a venture around intellectual capital" to "successful entrepreneurship in large organizations" and "socially responsible leadership." The weekly series provides Georgia Tech students, alumni and the Atlanta business community an opportunity to network and learn from successful entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and notable business and non-profit leaders. The lecture series is sponsored by the Institute for Leadership and Entrepreneurship. 

The series is free and open to the public. Reservations are not required.
