IMPACT Presents: Shan Cooper, WestRock

Please join the Institute for Leadership and Entrepreneurship and the Cecil B. Day program for a talk from Shan Cooper, Chief Transformation Officer of WestRock.

Prior to working at WestRock, Cooper served as Vice President of Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company, Vice President of Business Ethics, General Manager to its Cobb County office, and oversaw subassembly sites in the Southeast. 

In her new role at WestRock, Cooper oversees supply chain, technology operations, and WestRock’s recycling business.  She is playing an important role in the development of the company and in reaching its $1 billion synergy and performance improvement goal by 2018.

In part for her work at Lockheed and previous workplaces, Cooper has received many national awards and accolades, including: Women of Color in Technology Corporate Responsibility Award, Georgia Trend Magazine’s 2015 Most Respected Business Leader, Woman of the Year 2015, and the 2013 Pioneer Award.  She also has a deep involvement with the Cobb County and Atlanta communities through serving on the Metro Atlanta Chamber and working to educate and encourage young girls to enter traditionally male-dominate STEM fields. About the Impact Speaker Series:

Since 2002, the IMPACT Speaker Series has brought highly successful business leaders from a variety of industries to campus to share their experiences and give advice to students and other entrepreneurs on topics ranging from "building a venture around intellectual capital" to "successful entrepreneurship in large organizations" and "socially responsible leadership." The weekly series provides Georgia Tech students, alumni and the Atlanta business community an opportunity to network and learn from successful entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and notable business and non-profit leaders.

The series is free and open to the public, and reservations are not required.
