Good Girls Revolt - Screening & Panel Discussion

Primary tabs

Georgia Tech's School of Literature, Media, and Communication and Women's Resource Center invite you to a screening of the new Amazon series Good Girls Revolt. This is one of only three premier screenings nationwide (New York, Los Angeles, and Atlanta).

The one-hour screening will be followed by a panel discussion that will include Georgia Tech faculty Carol Colatrella and Karen Head, current students Kendall Rankin and Raksha Muthukumar, and Sene Sorrow, Product Management - Digital /Mobile Technologies (independent contractor - Turner), and Georgia Tech alumna.

Amazon's description of the series:

Good Girls Revolt’s main characters are a group of young female researchers -- Jane Hollander (Anna Camp), Patti Robinson (Genevieve Angelson), and Cindy Reston (Erin Darke) -- who recognize they’re being treated unfairly in their jobs at “News of the Week.”  As they start to ask for the equality they deserve, their actions bring on unexpected consequences. The pilot episode is inspired by the first female class action lawsuit, which took place in 1970 when 46 women charged Newsweek with discrimination. Lynn Povich was of the ringleaders and chronicled the case in her book The Good Girls Revolt. The series’ pilot also features characters inspired by the book that featured the “real” Nora Ephron and Eleanor Holmes Norton.

PARKING: The closest visitor parking is next to the Georgia Tech Alumni-Faculty House on North Avenue.
