Shopping and Dining in Atlanta

Krog Street Market

As a “destination for Atlanta’s intown culture,” Krog Street Market is a great place to find a unique gift or a tasty meal. The market is designed to blend into the 1920’s warehouse it was built into and includes market stalls with produce, goods, and prepared foods.

Ponce City Market

Ponce City Market offers a place for people to gather, eat, and shop. The National Trust for Historic Preservation recognized the market as part of the plan to "move Atlanta forward while maintaining and emphasizing the city’s unique history and culture." Ponce City Market includes retail shops, a Central Food Hall, and a connection to the Atlanta BeltLine.

Atlantic Station

On Friday, Oct. 7, the 2016 Spooky Film Festival will begin at Central Park in Atlantic Station. The movie, Twilight, will be shown at dusk.

Outdoor Activities

BeltLine

Art on the Atlanta BeltLine will hold live performances from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 8 and 12 – 6 p.m. on Oct. 9 in the Historic Fourth Ward Park. The event features free acts that are perfect for an audience of any age. View the full performance schedule.

Atlanta Botanical Garden

The Atlanta Botanical Garden is getting into the fall spirit. Scarecrows in the Garden began this week and will continue throughout the month. This event features over 100 creative scarecrows handcrafted by businesses, individuals, schools, and organizations.

Centennial Olympic Park

Make the most of a visit to Centennial Olympic Park by stopping at the official Visitor Center, located on the south end of the park, adjacent to the Fountain of Rings, where brochures, travel maps, and volunteers are available to make it a great day at the park.

Zoo Atlanta

Zoo Atlanta is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday. Students can receive admission for $21.99 with their BuzzCard. (For students over the age of 21, a new event, Sippin’ Safari, will be held from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 8.)
