At their recent commencement ceremonies in London, UK, the Imperial College London awarded Robert M. Nerem, PhD, Parker H. Petit Distinguished Chair for Engineering in Medicine, Institute Professor, and Founding Director of the Parker H. Petit Institute for Bioengineering and Bioscience (IBB) at Georgia Tech an honorary degree for his life long pioneering work in the field of biomedical engineering.
