Express Your Opinion about "I Feel Safe When"

Primary tabs

Georgia Tech students can express their opinions about issues around personal safety this week as the "I Feel Safe When ____" project begins.

Coordinated by the Office of the Arts and led by artist/facilitator/educator Jennifer Edwards, the project provides time and space for Georgia Tech students to reflect on what safety means to them. It is a collective story created by all who participate by completing the statement on cards that will be shared anonymously and then displayed.

Student volunteers will encourage students in the free expression of ideas and thoughts around the idea and issue of safety.  They will be stationed at tables in the Student Center and on Tech Walkway on September 15-19.  Volunteers interested in assisting with the project can visit http://signup.com/go/952hyL.

Project partners for "I Feel Safe When ____" include the Division of Student Life and its departments including Counseling Center, LGBTQIA Resource Center, Women’s Resource Center, Assessment, Parent and Family Programs, Student Diversity Programs, Student Engagement, and Greek Affairs; Institute Diversity; Student Center;  Campus Recreation Center; Center for Health and Wellbeing; DramaTech; GT Athletics; GT Police; Center for Serve Learn Sustain ; and Student Government Association.

Students, student organizations, faculty, or staff who would like to receive blank cards can contact the Office of the Arts at 404-894-2787.
