CISTP Hosts NNSA Graduate Fellowship Program Discussion

Primary tabs

On August 30, 2016, the Center for International Strategy, Technology, and Policy hosted Heidi Hamling to discuss the National Nuclear Security Administration’s Graduate Fellows Program (NGFP).

The NGFP has a prestigious track record of educating and training leaders in National Nuclear Security Policy. Hamling discussed the application process, fellowship compensation, and the many foci that a fellow can pursue. Fellowships are open to candidates with knowledge and/or interest in nuclear technology or policy - concentrations include nuclear nonproliferation and stockpile stewardship. Liz Dallas, a current NGFP fellow and PhD student at the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs also shared her experience with the application process and her individualized fellowship experience. The NGFP boasts an excellent post fellowship placement rate for its fellows, and the majority go on to work in nuclear security with the knowledge and skills they gain.
