The 2009 Korea Conference will explore the broader conceptual, technical, sectoral, and strategic dimensions to the Korean energy security tangle that shapes practical opportunities for sustaining the DPRK's engagement in the Six-Party Talks and strengthening U.S.-ROK relations. Moreover, the conference is scheduled to take place following the U.S. presidential election, during a period when the new administration will assess the lessons of the Six-Party Talks and develop new ideas for advancing the process.

Featured speakers include Ambassador James T. Laney, former US Ambassador to Korea and president emeritus of Emory University; Ambassador Hae-Jin Chun, Consul General of Korea; Mr. Kurt Tong, Director of the Korea Desk, US Department of State.
