Primary tabs
Pardis Pishdad-Bozorgi has been honored with a highly selective award by The Construction Industry Institute (CII). This award is not an annual award; it is only awarded when there is a viable candidate whose academic research has the potential to significantly improve the construction industry. Pishdad-Bozorgi, an Assistant Professor in the School of Building Construction and her co-PI, Jesus de la Garza from Virginia Tech have succeeded in earning this distinction.
Pishdad-Bozorgi and de la Garza’s research focused on the Successful Delivery of Flash Track Projects.
The Construction Industry Institute (CII), based at The University of Texas at Austin, is a consortium of more than 130 leading owner, engineering-contractor, and supplier firms from both the public and private arenas. A learning organization with a wealth of knowledge and information, CII is unique in the engineering and construction industry.
CII requirements indicate that an award winning research report has the following characteristics:
- has a thorough going account of the data collection methods
- presents a complete description of the data analysis performed
- explains the findings in statistical detail, as appropriate
- makes reasoned claims and conclusions; divulges any limitations of the findings
- presents a useful and valuable discussion of industry implementation
- makes viable recommendations for further research
Pishdad-Bozorgi is honored to receive this research award and have her research on Successful Delivery of Flash Track Projects singled out for this distinction. Congratulations to Professors Pishdad-Bozorgi and de la Garza!
