Database Management Systems and Data Warehousing

Databases are vital business repositories used by every business. In this TechTopic we will discuss the fundamental components of a database management system and how they are architected and deployed. We will look at data warehousing as well as transactional systems which are the two fundamental workloads for databases. This session will be taught by someone who earned a Master’s Degree in Computer Science at Georgia tech so there will be no overlap between standard CS curriculum and this session.

Instructor: David Rodriguez

David Rodriguez is a Senior Microsoft Database Technology Specialist. He has Masters of Science degrees in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, and Management from Georgia Tech. He is also a certified Developer and DBA on the Microsoft Platform. He has 16 years of experience with application development and Database Consulting and has worked for Microsoft for 10 years as a Technology Specialist and a Microsoft Consulting Services Consultant.
