IMPACT Presents: Carlos Amesquita, Chief Information Officer, The Hershey Company

Alumnus Carlos Amésquita is the Chief Information Officer for The Hershey Company.  He joined Hershey in August 2014 after a distinguished 28 year career with Procter & Gamble, where he held several IT and Shared Services leadership positions.  His last assignment was leading Global Business Services and Information Technology for P&G North America.

Carlos has extensive international experience across developing and developed markets, having lived in three countries and travelled extensively to 5 continents.  His assignments spanned across technologies and processes in the areas of finance, marketing, sales, supply chain and HR.  Carlos led major ERP initiatives and go-to-market IT programs, as well as big data and analytics programs with retailers. He created and led a new Innovation and Incubation organization, led a multi-billion dollar outsourcing deal, and developed strategic suppliers to move from contract work to managed services. 

Carlos earned a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and a Master of Science in Management (MBA) from The Georgia Institute of Technology.  Carlos is fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, and English.  

Carlos and his wife, Jackie, live in Cincinnati.  He spends his free time with his children and likes to play tennis and swim. 

Carlos serves in the Board of Directors of the Hispanic IT Executive Council (HITEC) since 2011, and has been a member of the HITEC organization since 2008.

Mr. Amesquita will speak at Georgia Tech's IMPACT Speaker Series on Wednesday, February 17, 2016.

About the Impact Speaker Series:

Since 2002, the IMPACT Speaker Series has brought highly successful business leaders from a variety of industries to campus to share their experiences and give advice to students and other entrepreneurs on topics ranging from "building a venture around intellectual capital" to "successful entrepreneurship in large organizations" and "socially responsible leadership". The weekly series provides Georgia Tech students, alumni and the Atlanta business community an opportunity to network and learn from successful entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and notable business and non-profit leaders. The lecture series is sponsored by the Institute for Leadership and Entrepreneurship and the Georgia Tech  Student Alumni Association

The series is free and open to the public, reservations are not required.
