European Diplomacy Since the Cold War: How Ambitious, How Inhibited?

Lord Wallace is a member of the British House of Lords. Until May 2015 he was a Government Whip acting as government spokesperson in the House of Lords on the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. He will be critically assessing the European Union's role as a foreign policy actor beyond its neighborhood, with a particular emphasis on the Middle East and Africa. The talk is part of an international symposium on the EU as a Peacemaker and Peacekeeper, marking the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II. The talk is sponsored by Georgia Tech's Jean Monnet Center of Excellence and the School of History and Sociology.
