retroTECH: A Hardware History of Computing

Primary tabs

They say that one man's trash is another man's treasure. Things that are old and obsolete today may be priceless historical artifacts in 20 years. The College of Computing has amassed such a collection of artifacts; are they trash or treasure? As part of the GT Computing 25/50 Anniversary, you can decide!

This October, the College of Computing, in conjunction with Georgia Tech Libraries, will put on "retroTECH: A Hardware History of Computing," a display of historical computing hardware and memorabilia that together tell a story about the history of computing—including some early ties to Georgia Tech.

The exhibit is curated by Bill Leahy, longtime College of Computing faculty member and director of its Division of Computing Instruction. Which of these components did you use? Come visit this fascinating exhibit and relive the retro days of computing!

Curator Tour

On Friday, Oct. 23, at 7pm, Bill Leahy will give a guided tour of the retroTECH exhibit as part of an alumni reception in the Clough rooftop garden. If you would like to attend, please RSVP here!
