On hand for the lecture and ensuing discussion was a familiar face: Dr. Christine Hartzell, BSAE '08.

As one of the organizers of the event, Hartzell was pleased to have Smith take the inaugural slot in the lecture series.

"When one of my colleagues suggested Dr. Smith be our first speaker, I thought it was great because her work is so well-respected," said Hartzell. "It was also great for me because I had known her during my time at Georgia Tech."
