Chris Jones, Ph.D., Wins Georgia Tech 2012 Award for Outstanding Achievement in Research Program Development

Christopher Jones, Ph.D., has been recognized with the Award for Outstanding Achievement in Research Program Development. The award recognizes his role in successful proposals that captured almost $2 million in external funding for Georgia Tech in the 3-year period 2009-11

Dr. Jones is New-Vision Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. His research interests are in the broad areas of materials design and synthesis, catalysis and adsorption. Specific emphases are placed on catalytic materials for energy applications, fine chemical and pharmaceutical applications, and on adsorbents for CO2 capture. He supervises IPST Ph.D. student Xiaojuan Zhou in his investigation, “Renewable Nylon 6 fibers from Lignin fragments by catalytic hydrogenation.”
