TAPPI Young Professionals Group Visits IPST

Primary tabs

IPST hosted the TAPPI Young Professionals Committee Thursday, March 27. Following a meeting on committee business, the group toured the Robert C. Williams Museum of Papermaking,

where they viewed a demonstration of suminagashi (the Japanese form of paper marbling), and enjoyed making their own samples. IPST executive director Norman Marsolan met with the group and discussed the concept of a professional master’s degree in manufacturing leadership-forest bioproducts being developed at Georgia Tech (see related article - PMML). Several thought the concept would be closer to their needs than the MBA’s they are currently contemplating. The degree program is completing internal reviews at Georgia Tech and, upon concurrence, will be submitted to the Georgia Board of Regents sometime this quarter.
