Instant Access to Your Favorite Journals and eBooks

Primary tabs

There are new ways to access the Library's scholarly journals and popular reading material from your mobile devices.

BrowZine is a new mobile app that allows users to create their own personalized browsing shelf of the most important journals for your research.  Download the free iOS or Android app to your favorite mobile device, and choose “Georgia Tech Library” from the list of libraries to gain access to Georgia Tech's journal subscription.

While it's not designed for in-depth searching, BrowZine does allow you to view the table of contents, read and save articles from journals, get notifications when new issues become available, share links to articles with others via email, Facebook or Twitter (some articles will not be available due to license restrictions) and save articles to Zotero, Mendeley and Dropbox, all from the convenience of one platform.

Thanks to a generous grant from the Lewis H. Beck Educational Foundation, the Library recently purchased the Overdrive Media service in order to offer a new collection of leisure reading e-books to campus. The Overdrive app is available for iOS, Android, Windows and Mac.

A convenient Overdrive Media Station, located opposite the Library Services Desk, allows walk-up access to book selections. You can immediately send books to your mobile device with just a few touches to the interactive, widescreen display.

Up to three titles may be checked out at any one time, and up to five additional titles can be placed on hold.  There's no need to worry about overdue books and late fees, as checked out titles automatically return to the Library on their due date.

Love the book you just finished? Overdrive makes it easy to share title information via e-mail, Twitter or Facebook.  You can even add a review to Goodreads, all from within the Overdrive app.
