Primary tabs

Shatakshee Dhongde, Assistant Professor at the School of Economics, travelled to Rotterdam, Netherlands between August 26-31, 2014 to participate in the 33rd General conference of the International Association to Research in Income and Wealth (IARIW).  The travel was partly supported by the IAC-Georgia Tech Foundation’s International Travel Support.

She presented a paper, co-written with Dr. Jacques Silber (Bar-Ilan University, Israel) on “Distributional change, pro-poor growth and convergence: an application to non-income dimensions” in a session on "Multidimensionality and Growth Pro-poorness". In this paper the authors propose an alternative methodological approach to the analysis of pro-poor growth and suggest new measures of pro-poor growth.

The IARIW conference is a two-yearly meeting of academics and statisticians, focusing on topics closely related to national accounts and income and wealth distribution. The conference targets participants from universities and statistics offices from across the globe, offering a unique opportunity for discussion and exchange of ideas between academics and statisticians.
