Dhongde Appointed Research Affiliate by the IRP

Shatakshee Dhongde has been named a research affiliate by the The Institute of Research on Poverty (IRP). Established in 1966 at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, IRP is the nation’s original poverty research center and currently one of three National Poverty Research Centers sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. IRP is renowned as a center for interdisciplinary research into the causes and consequences of poverty and social inequality in the United States. Dhongde has been a visiting scholar of and published papers in association with the IRP since 2012.

Shatakshee Dhongde is an assistant professor in the School of Economics. Her research focuses on the measurement of poverty, inequality and segregation. Her recent work involves measuring multidimensional poverty in the United States.
